Following fat dissolving injections we would advise that you:

  • Avoid Aspirin and Vitamin E for pain to reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding. Paracetamol is acceptable. Intermittent cooling with ice can be used by applying for 5 minutes post-procedure. A simple fan can also be helpful for discomfort.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
  • Bruising may occur. Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds and heat therapies for atlas 48 hours.
  • Avoid hot baths and showers (tepid water only) for 5 days.
  • Massage the treated area for about 15 minutes per day for two weeks after treatment to aid the process of fat elimination.
  • Nodules are not uncommon. They can last up to a month and usually disappear without any intervention. However, we would need to assess anything unusual.
  • Drink lots of fluids (water) for the first 24 hours.

FAQ

+ How will I feel after treatment?

Redness in the affected area is common. You may experience bruising and/or swelling. Mild discomfort and stinging is common but some may have more prolonged pain. This can be managed and we provide guidance and support throughout your treatment journey. Occasionally, ‘nodules’ may form, but are transient and require no treatment. Should they persist, please contact your practitioner.

+ Do I need to take time off work or cover up?

Not necessarily. If discomfort is minimal and the treated area is not visible (e.g. thighs, abdomen) there is no objection to working. Treating the chin area may result in visible redness, bruising and/or swelling so you may wish organise a few days off work, if this is an issue for you.

+ Is Fat Dissolving treatments on the face safe?

Used correctly, Fat Dissolving treatments are safe. No injectable treatment however is without risk. The absolute risk including damage to deep structures, necrosis of the skin, discolouration and other serious complications however remains very low.  You must immediately contact your practitioner if something does not feel right.

+ Are the results permanent?

Yes, the fat cells in the treated areas are destroyed by this treatment. However, this does not stop your body’s ability to put on weight. Fat Dissolving is not a treatment for obesity. It is a treatment for stubborn, localised pockets of fat and body/facial sculpting.

+ When will I notice results?

This depends on the area treated and number of sessions required. Results are noticed approximately 4-6 weeks after your final session.

+ How long will my results last?

Results are permanent provided in the treated areas. However the treatment does not stop your body from accumulating new fat, if there is dietary intake/lifestyle issue. It is not a treatment for obesity.

+ How much does the procedure cost?

More than one session may be required depending on the area and desired result. If your treatment plan requires more than 1 session, please contact your practitioner for packages.

+ Is the procedure painful?

The procedure is usually very well tolerated with a small amount of disocomfort. Injecting DESO in the wrong ‘plane’ can trigger sharp pain (e.g. incorrect placement near the skin or muscle). Injection entry points are kept to a minimum for comfort.

+ How long does the procedure last?

The procedure itself is brief, lasting approximately 30 minutes depending on the area. We allocate an hour to the session to allow for thorough consultation, discussion of benefits/risks and to ensure any consent is fully informed. Procedures are not rushed.

+ What about alcohol and exercise following treatment?

It is best to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy alcohol in the first 24hrs after treatment. Exercise is otherwise acceptable. We would always encourage adherence to recommended guidelines on alcohol consumption, both for general wellbeing and preserving facial/body aesthetics.

+ Do I need a follow-up appointment?

We offer all patients a follow-up appointment 4-6 weeks following treatment. This is to ensure results are satisfactory, there are no concerns and no complications. This interval also allows sufficient time to offer further injections safely, if the treatment plan requires more than 1 session.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy For L’Amour Clinic

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and we sincerely hope that your family have kept safe and well.  We have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again at the clinic.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon, we have implemented a number of changes, which we would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been shut, we have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control Course, which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

 If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and do not come to the salon for your appointment. We will not be able to go ahead with your appointment if you show signs you are unwell. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments, which you miss due to illness/ other. Deposits/booking fees can be rescheduled until further notice but cannot be refunded

Visiting the Salon

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

Please attend your appointment alone in order to reduce human contact with our staff. Unfortunately, friends and family members cannot enter the premises. If you have booked appointments with friends /family members back to back then please continue to come to the clinic alone – one at a time.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single-use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross-infection.

We will have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon.

We will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear a facemask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the salon and during your treatment is this is appropriate.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if our staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves, facemasks, aprons where appropriate.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely.

During your treatment

Our staff understands the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

After the treatment

In order to avoid handling of cash, we would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by PayPal or bank transfer.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
